Current world number 2 Amr Shabana is already considered one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen. The left hander from Cairo has impressive career stats including 21 PSA Tour titles, 12 Super Series Crowns and World Open trophies in 2003, 2005, 2007 and now 2009.

Amr first made his career breakthrough in 2003 when he won the World Open in Pakistan. Seeded only 9th he beat the then world number 1 Karim Darwish in the semis and Thierry Lincou in the final to claim the biggest victoy of his life. Amr also became the first winner of the world open from Egypt.
